A man from Uganda,Joshua Chetptegei ,has broken a world record of 5000 metre world record.The tournament was held at the 2020 Monaco diamond league meet on Friday.
Joshua Cheptegei has broken the record of 12 years old and recorded his name on history.
The athletes of 23 years old completed race in 12 minutes and 35.36 seconds which is 2 seconds faster than the 12 years old record.
Earlier in 2004, an Ethiopian athlete, KENENISA BEKELE , had registered world record on 5000 metres race in just 12 minutes and 37.35 seconds .
Joshua considers Monaco as a sacred place where he can achieve his ambitions regarding world records. He has been in fine form since clinching 10000M gold at last years World Championships.
“I think Monaco is special place,”said the new record holder.
